Candace was named interim executive director of Genesis Garden in June 2017. After earning a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Springfield and an M.A. in Community Counseling at Argosy University, Atlanta, she has been affiliated with Bridgeway, Inc., Heartwork Counseling Center, Breakthru, Inc., SBS Psychological Associates, Inc., the Social Empowerment Center, and her own counseling practice Hope, Harmony, & Holistic Health Counseling Center, LLC. Most recently she has served as Director of the Interfaith Young Adult Program at Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth, IL. Her prior volunteer work encompasses counseling at Lost-N-Found, Inc., a homeless shelter serving Atlanta’s homeless LGBTQ young adults, the Young Adult Guidance Center, Malachi’s Storehouse, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Will served as Executive Director of Genesis Garden from its founding until June 2017. While earning his B.A. at Western Illinois University, Will served as an AmeriCorps VISTA and later as Mission and Youth Staff Coordinator at First Presbyterian Church of Macomb. During his tenure, Genesis Garden organized the Summer Lunch program and acquired and coordinated extensive renovation of the future family shelter at 307 E Carroll.
